What is the process?


For self-pay clients:

1. Please select the free consultation link.  

2. You will be routed to my Simple Practice website. This will allow you have access to  your own HIPAA-compliant secure portal where you can make appointments or reschedule, and retrieve your records.

3. You will be given the option to book a 45 min session or a free consultation.

4. Click select on “Raquel Virtual Therapy Link” this will open my calendar.

5. Select who is this appointment for and click next.

6. Enter your personal contact information. 

Concerned with finances?

I strive to make my prices reasonable and competitive with the market, however there are times when we need extra help with finances.  In this case let's have a conversation about it and let me see what we can do to help without compromising your mental health care.  My business philosophy is customer service first and I love taking care of my clients.   I am here for you, so let's talk. 

Therapy sessions are typically weekly 45 min

Number of sessions will be determined based on your needs,  It is difficult to initially predict how many sessions will be needed.  We will collaboratively discuss from session to session what the next steps are and how often therapy sessions should occur.


Insurance Questions


Why are there three companies listed for insurance coverage?

In order to be certified for as many insurance companies as possible, I have partnered with Headway, Uplift , and Grow Therapy to process and manage billing for insurance coverage.  My partnership with these companies allows me to offer you the opportunity to use your insurance to help alleviate the burden of financial stress.   Based on the type of insurance that you hold, we will select the company that can process your insurance coverage. Either Headway, Uplift, or Grow Therapy will be in charge of  collecting insurance information using their portal by selecting the link listed on this website.  You will receive information and consent forms along with your In-Network insurance coverage, co-pay obligations.  Those co-pays are typically handled with a credit card on file.

How do I check on my insurance coverage?

If you would like to check  insurance coverage,  you can select personal website link  under the the company that list your insurance  and you will be automatically routed to my provider portal.  Once you are at either Headway, Uplift, or Grow Therapy check for your insurance coverage.  If you have questions, please reach out to me.  You will be prompt to enter your insurance information. What information do I need to verify coverage?  

You will need to enter: 

  1. Insurance name

  2. Name listed on the insurance card

  3. Insurance ID

  4. Group #

  5. Date of birth

  6. Email

  7. Phone number

Once your insurance is verified (2-3 business days),   You will receive an email requesting you to complete your registration and it will ask you to sign the required consent forms.  A credit card will be required as you will be responsible to pay your co-pays.  

Once Headway, Grow Therapy and Uplift receive your signed consent forms, we can set up an appointment for therapy. 


What happens if my co-pay is too high, or you do not take my insurance?

Then we will proceed to selecting self-pay.  I can provide you with a "super bill" that you can use to make an individual claim with your insurance company not covered by my partner platforms and get you reimbursed for services.  We can also discuss cash pay and I will work with you on a price you can afford.

Phone Contact and Emergencies

If you are experiencing an emergency, please contact 911 as we do not handle crises. National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.  My office hours vary from day-to-day. If you need to contact the clinician for any reason, please call 904 563 5873, leave a voicemail, and a return call will be made within 24 hours, or as soon as possible.
